About our Program & Structure
Our ever-evolving series has been referred to as an ‘Encyclopedia of Empowerment’, for it combines the best of all discoveries, knowledge and insights involving human nature and behavior into one single, highly effective, life-changing process.
Our approach is much like that used by the acclaimed martial arts master Bruce Lee, who was believed nearly invincible in competition as a result of combining the best of all top martial arts practices into one flowing and nearly flawless ‘system’.
Our ‘system’ has gained a similar advantage by combing the old with the new, including proven insights based in scripture and philosophy, as well as Psychology, CBT, NLP, NVC, FMRI, and many other highly effective science-based studies and treatments.
Although the Center for Empowerment is a secular and non-denominational organization, we acknowledge, celebrate and rely upon the existence and support of God, as well as in the universal values and principles shared by virtually every major religion and culture.

The course is structured in such a way as to generate maximum understanding, retention, mastery, and results. The following is a basic overview of our structure, and what you will experience during the next few months.
• Only six Participants, a Team Leader (and possibly a Co-Leader) are allowed to attend each session. The primary reasons for this are because with fewer than six we miss out on true group dynamics and partnership-pairing, and with more than six it is difficult for everyone to have time to express themselves during weekly meetings.
• Once the course begins, you will meet in your small group on a telephone conference call for 1 hour each week. The exact time and day of this weekly call will be coordinated by your Team Leader.
• The course begins with an Introduction. Please follow it carefully and be prepared to review it during your first call.
• You will find the weekly calls to be very easy, as you simply dial a phone number, then enter a code (as described in your welcome email). *It is recommended that you enter both numbers on your ‘favorites’ list as you will be dialing them weekly.
• During this weekly call, you will gain fun and meaningful insights as you share your previous week’s experiences with each other. You will also get answers to questions you may have regarding your lessons and assignments. At NO time is it ever required for you to ‘share’ during these calls, nor are you required to share private or personal thoughts and feelings with the group. ‘Sharing’ is entirely on a volunteer basis, however, you will likely find this forum to be an ideal venue for expressing the thoughts and feelings you might not have felt comfortable sharing with others.
• You will also spend a few minutes each week on a one-on-one, private coaching call with a ‘Team Partner’, where you will assist each other in following through with your weekly commitments, goals, and objectives.
• You will then spend time throughout each week applying the lessons, exercises and assignments from the course to your life and career. It is while applying these insights to your life that you will not only begin mastering the material, but this is also how you will begin creating ‘immediate and measurable’ improvements in your life.
• The assignments are the most critical aspect of the program in regard to your growth and transformation, however, most assignments take no additional time from your day; you won’t always be doing ‘more’, in many cases you will be doing the same things that you normally do… but you will do it in a different (more empowered) way, and in many cases the assignments will actually save you time (and money).
• Life Mastery-1 will last 3 months. It will involve approximately 2 hours of your time each week (out of 168 available hours), and most of that time will be enjoyable, inspiring, and productive.
• All sessions are recorded (unless otherwise arranged), so if you are unable to attend a session, you can listen to the recording and catch up. Or, you can use the recordings to help you remember something you heard during the session but want to hear again.
• The primary purpose of your weekly teleconference call is not to ‘coach’ you through your issues, or drive the curriculum into your lives, but rather to support you through the process; to help you stay on track, and most of all, to hold you gently accountable while reminding you to read your lessons and do your assignments, for it is through this process that nearly 100% of your gains will be made.
• In order to access your curriculum each week, you will be directed to a dedicated internet platform, where you will click on the applicable training, and review it on your screen. You will also be provided with a separate ‘Exercise & Assignment’ document each week that you can download, type on, and store in your files.
• We also include a simple quiz at the beginning of each session. The purpose of this quiz is to help you master the material. Studies have shown that those who do not move on to the next session until they pass a quiz are significantly more likely to ‘learn’ (and eventually master) the material. This also helps prepare you for your weekly meeting, and for the exciting certification exam at the end of the program.

Where do we ‘Begin’?
We are all on our own individual journey through life and as such, we are each at a different level in our growth, understanding, and mastery of the many insights, principles, and character traits available to us. So how can this course effectively start every participant out at the same level or point of instruction? Won’t it be too fundamental for some and too advanced for others? And the answer is… ‘No, not at all’. When it comes to ‘Life Mastery’… there is no such things as ‘too fundamental’, for true mastery begins at this very basic level, and very few individuals entirely master every aspect of even the most fundamental principles and character traits.
As such, we always begin, at the ‘beginning’… not only does this provide a basic understanding to those who are only now, for the first time in their lives being introduced to some of the most elementary insights in this course, it also allows those who are already aware of the fundamental principles to spend more focused time applying, mastering, and even ‘teaching’ them to those with less experience. Once again, it is in ‘teaching’ these principles to others that you will learn the most.

This course focuses on the PERMANENT growth & transformation of individuals, groups, employees and organizations regardless of their individual circumstances. We place little emphasis on that which will only bring about temporary gains or benefits.
We achieve this in part, through our PermaLearn® Mastery System. The PermaLearn Mastery System converts the use of universal principles and ‘heroic’ character traits into a permanent ‘way of being’. These habit-forming methods are based on the most current discoveries regarding how we process, learn, and master information and behaviors.
In addition to many unique approaches we’ve already listed, PermaLearn also employs the three most highly effective steps known for creating habits & mastery.
These steps include ‘Immediate and Sustained Action’. Our support team helps you take everything you learn and immediately APPLY it to your life, and then do so repeatedly. Not only does this create ‘mastery’, it also creates immediate ‘results’. This is also why we call our training a ‘Course of Action’, and it is why virtually every discipline from sports, to science, to the performing arts have employed it for centuries.
We also use Mnemosyne (‘Spaced Repetition’). Once is not enough; the lessons you learn must be repeated over an extended period of time, and expressed in a multitude of different ways. This approach has been proven highly effective as you will soon see.
Our third proven approach is through ‘Teaching’. Studies have confirmed that one of the fastest way to mastery is through teaching that which you most wish to learn. It is not a coincidence that in martial arts, you must become a teacher in order to advance to the higher ranks. In keeping with this proven tradition, every participant in our course is given a variety of ways to turn around and teach what they’ve learned, to others. And remarkably, you will find that not only do you better learn what you teach, you also learn as much from those with whom you share as they do you, and together, everyone benefits.

We have also found that applying the principles you are learning as you go to a set of specific goals, increases your mastery of these lessons as it adds greater meaning, purpose, and context to the lessons themselves. With that in mind, we have provided additional support for your ‘Goal Guides’ which you will learn about in the training, and be able to access in your Life Mastery-1 Portal (under Support Documents).
Examples, Exercises, & Assignments
Although most of us know many of the unique principles & traits needed for being happy and fulfilled, we don't LIVE them… We don't even consistently apply them.
Let’s use this point to demonstrate a highly effective process we include throughout our training: Examples, Exercises, and Assignments. By frequently offering Examples, Exercises, and Assignments, we greatly increase both your level of understanding as well as your ability to assimilate each new insight.
EXAMPLE: Have you ever spent even a single day in a ‘continuous state of appreciation’… refusing to see or acknowledge anything except for the blessings and opportunities in your life?
EXERCISE: Right now, stop reading and spend 30 seconds just imagining what it would be like to go 24 hours without complaining, then answer the following:

• Thinking a dark or negative thought
• Seeing what is wrong, unfair, unacceptable or missing in your life
If you can go even 12 hours, you will not only have achieved an amazing feat, you will probably have also had one of the best days of your life! And, it won’t be contingent on anything outside of yourself; you will have created it from within…as you could each and every day! What would your life be like… if this became a habit!?
Don’t be discouraged. Although you will attempt to go for one full day without thinking or sharing a single negative thought about anything or anyone, focusing entirely on the ‘good’ in your life and in others, this is much easier said than done. The purpose of this assignment isn’t to teach you how to accomplish this (that will take a bit more time and effort), it’s to teach you about yourself, while also creating a ‘desire’ to eventually master this ‘heroic habit’.
ASSIGNMENT 1 (Part 2): Once you’ve finished your assignment, write down what you’ve learned about yourself and others from this experience and how you can improve your life (and the lives of others) with this simple new insight, and consider sharing your answers and insights during our weekly team call.
